Ewaste Africa – Recycling Dashboard
A comprehensive recycling management dashboard that tracks electronic and lighting waste from collection to final processing. The system provides end-to-end traceability, QR code integration for physical item tracking, and detailed analytics for waste processing metrics.
The Challenge
E-waste recycling involves multiple stages — collection, sorting, dismantling, and processing — each requiring precise tracking. Without a digital system, data was scattered across spreadsheets, making traceability and reporting nearly impossible. QR code integration was needed to bridge the physical and digital tracking gap.
The Solution
I contributed to building the dashboard using Laravel and Blade for the core backend, with Vue.js components for interactive data visualizations. The QR code system links physical waste containers to digital records, enabling warehouse staff to scan and update status in real-time. MySQL stores the complete audit trail, and PHPUnit tests ensure data integrity.
